Second Grade Classroom

Jeff is teaching second grade for the first time this year!  Since we are used to setting up a classroom for junior high kids, this room was definitely more of a challenge than usual.  He wanted to go with an "under the sea" theme and given the budget and time constraints I think it turned out great!

Thank you to Rose for donating these awesome balloon animals!

Six Flags 2013

Every summer we make our way to Six Flags for a day.  While it doesn't come close to Disneyland, it's still a fun amusement park for kids of all ages.  Our family loves the animals and since the kids aren't old enough to ride those crazy roller coasters, Looney Tunes Land in the park with the kid coasters is perfect.

First stop, Joey was excited to hold a macaw.

Next we headed to my favorite part of the park, the Butterfly Gardens...

Logan was VERY upset when we found out they no longer have an Orca whale at Six Flags.  Shouka was his favorite animal in the park.  But, we did see the Cirque De Soleil show with the dolphins which was cool.

Climbing around the jungle gym area was a blast...

And they rode the swings ride...

The Shark Experience tunnels were so fun we went through twice!

As is our tradition, each kid got to pick a souvenir.  Joey picked fly goggles...

The boys rode the roller coaster at Looney Tunes Land - they are in the front car...

And Emmie rode the planes...

Logan relaxed on the concrete chair (not comfy at all!)...

Then he and his sister took a train ride...

Emmie chose a face painting as her souvenir.

More rides...

Another great trip to Six Flags!

Art Beast

Jeff and Joey were off to their first Cub Scout Mt. Lassen Camping Trip so I had the pleasure of spending the day with my two youngest.  Determined to make the most of our day (so they wouldn't be too jealous of Joey's trip) we headed to Art Beast.  This very cool kid art studio is such a treasure!  We haven't been in a couple years so everything was new to the kids.

Art Beast has everything a kid could need to create and use their imaginations - paint, clay, sand, play houses, instruments, the list goes on and on.
